THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT NEED YOUR VIEWS……
If you are currently receiving a
- Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
- SAAS loan or bursary
- Childcare, Discretionary or DSA funding
- None of the above ~ for any reason
Your Students’ Association are supporting the Scottish Government to collect your views and experiences surrounding student funding support. They are looking to you to help them determine the future of student funding in Scotland.
As a result the Students’ Association invite you to a focus group with representatives from Virgin Money who, on behalf of the Scottish Government, are reviewing the whole Bursary, EMA, SAAS and other funding systems currently available. These views will be used to inform the future shape of student funding in Scotland to ensure it is fair and equitable to all students throughout their learner journey.
We need a focus group of 10-12 students who are willing to share their views and experiences relating to funding support. Equally important is hearing from students who have not been able to secure student support funds for any reason.
This Focus Group will take place on Wednesday 26th April at 1.00pm in the Board Room at the Scottish Borders Campus in Galashiels.
Please contact either Kevin or Amy in the Students’ Association or call into the Student Advice Centre to register your interest in being part of this. Your views and experiences could make a real difference to what happens in the future regarding student funding.
College Management are fully supporting this review therefore, for anyone who wishes to be part of this, we will inform your lecturers that you are attending this focus group and ensure that you are not marked absent from your class as a result.
This is your opportunity to influence change and help shape future arrangements relating to student funding and YOUR VIEWS REALLY MATTER.
